BOTOX®

What BOTOX® Addresses

BOTOX® is a neuromodulator made from a purified form of botulinum toxin. When injected into a targeted muscle, it temporarily interrupts the nerve signals that tell that muscle to contract. As the muscle relaxes, the lines created by repeated facial movements begin to soften. Because BOTOX® targets motion-related wrinkles rather than lost volume, it is especially effective across the upper face, where expressions like frowning, squinting, and raising the brows etch lines into the skin over time. 

At North Georgia Aesthetics, BOTOX® is most often used to smooth and prevent:

What to Expect During BOTOX®

Every BOTOX® visit at North Georgia Aesthetics begins with a brief consultation to review your concerns, discuss your goals, and confirm you are a good candidate. The treatment itself is quick and straightforward, typically taking only 10 to 15 minutes depending on how many areas are addressed. 

Your provider first cleanses the treatment area, then uses a very fine needle to inject BOTOX® into the targeted muscles. Most patients feel only minor discomfort, and numbing is usually unnecessary. There is no downtime afterward, so you can return to most daily activities right away. For the first 24 hours, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, not lying down for three to four hours, and not rubbing or pressing on the treated area. Results develop gradually. You will likely notice your wrinkles softening within two to five days, with full results appearing around 10 to 14 days after treatment.

How Long Does BOTOX® Last?

BOTOX® typically lasts three to four months. Because factors like age, metabolism, and muscle strength affect longevity, your provider can help you set a maintenance schedule that keeps your results looking fresh and natural over time.

Lip Filler

The lip filler is formulated with a small amount of the numbing agent, lidocaine. The lidocaine allows for a more comfortable procedure by minimizing the discomfort of the injections. If needed, we can apply a numbing agent before injections to ensure patient comfort.

Xeomin

Xeomin is an injectable that smooths fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles. It works by blocking nerve signals to muscles under the skin, causing them to relax. 

Xeomin generally lasts three to four months and is safe to use long-term with proper dosage adjustments. It’s a quick ten to fifteen-minute non-surgical treatment that can soften wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, and mouth.

Kybella

Kybella is a new FDA-approved injectable that treats submental fullness, or “double chin.” It is a chin contouring treatment that helps redefine the chin and jawline by dissolving the excess neck fat that comes with aging. This in-office procedure takes less than 30 minutes.  An average of two to three treatments are typically required for optimal results. Once the aesthetic correction is achieved, a need for future treatments is not expected.

Radiesse

Radiesse is an injectable filler typically used to add volume and smooth lines and stimulate natural collagen production for facial rejuvenation. It contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. 

Radiesse can provide immediate improvement while also hydrating the skin. Then, over time, Radiesse boosts collagen formation for longer-lasting effects.

Radiesse is ideal for plumping sunken areas and reducing signs of aging around the nose, mouth, cheeks, chin, hands, and lips. It can also be used to smooth away smoker’s lines around the mouth as well as vertical furrows in the forehead.
