Deka SmartXide Tetra CO2®

Over the years, signs of aging appear as a result of sun exposure (photoaging) as well as the effects of gravity and natural aging. The texture, tone, and pigmentation of your skin can be affected by these elements and usually result in unwanted wrinkles, fine lines, sunspots, and enlarged pores. This look of premature aging can negatively impact how we feel about our appearance.

Deka SmartXide Tetra CO2 is an excellent way to maximize skin rejuvenation with less downtime; take ten years off in as little as 15-30 minutes! Deka SmartXide Tetra CO2 system, a carbon dioxide-based ablative laser, features a technologically advanced Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) Scanner with Infinite Delivery Options.

The CO2 Laser is our most invasive treatment, offering a better advantage to resurfacing the skin than other treatments like peels or micro-needling. This therapy, performed at our practice exclusively by Dr. Brent Hayek, is excellent for the treatment of pigmentation, skin laxity, textural imperfections, wrinkles, and acne scars. It improves fine lines, skin texture, skin tone, and smoothness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your doctor will use the Smartxide DOT laser to apply a series of tiny pulses of laser energy to your skin. As these microscopic holes heal, new younger-looking skin is revealed and collagen is stimulated deep within your skin.

A topical anesthetic is generally applied before the procedure, although your physician may recommend other approaches to make you feel comfortable. As you relax in the doctor’s chair, you will feel heat and tingling as the laser scanner moves across your face.

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will feel warm and appear to be sunburned. Your body naturally starts working by replacing your aged skin cells with new ones. After a few days, you will notice a more even skin tone, smoother skin texture, and healthier-looking skin. You may see some redness and swelling which is completely normal. Over time, collagen will regenerate and restore the supporting structure of your skin. You may be asked to avoid sun exposure for a period of time.

Because Smartxide DOT has the distinct ability to deliver micro pulses of energy, you will experience a significantly shorter recovery time than with fully ablative lasers. Each tiny hole will quickly heal and in 2 to 7 days, you will be able to apply makeup on the treated surface of your skin and you will return to your normal lifestyle. You and your doctor may choose a more aggressive treatment regimen to achieve more significant results – this results in a downtime of 5 to 10 days with just one treatment with Dr. Hayek.

You and your doctor will carefully determine the best course of treatment based on both your cosmetic and your downtime expectations. You may opt for two or three sessions with minimal downtime. Alternately, if you can accommodate a longer downtime, you can experience dramatic results in just one treatment.

IPL Photofacial

A photofacial, or “fotofacial,” is a one-hour procedure in which intense pulses of light are used to penetrate deep into the skin. IPL™ photorejuvenation then causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness and age lines. The procedure involves only minimal discomfort, while the redness and swelling that sometimes occur after treatment disappear shortly. Most benefits of a photofacial/fotofacial occur gradually in the weeks following treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

Shaving, waxing, and other means of hair removal can be both painful and time-consuming. Luckily, a safe and often permanent procedure exists for the treatment of unwanted hair. Lasers can now quickly and comfortably remove hair from the face, back, arms, legs, bikini line, and other areas.
